The staff accountant/bookkeeper is responsible for assisting in the production and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements and bookkeeping services. The person in this position must be professional, analytical, organized and able to address tight deadlines and have thorough bookkeeping knowledge typically acquired through experience and/or an undergraduate degree.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Acting as point of contact for client
  • Clarifying and adjusting unknown transactions
  • Auditing and analyzing bookkeeping data and financial statements to assure accuracy and adjust as needed
  • Delivering monthly financial statement packages
  • Completing year-end closing and post year-end tax adjusting entries

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Possess strong competency of general accounting concepts
  • Possess strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills and be detail oriented
  • Possess excellent understanding of software including Excel, QuickBooks Online, Project Management Tools, Case Management Platforms and various payroll programs
  • Be able to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
  • Be able to prepare, analyze and present financial statements to clients and/or management
  • Be able to work in a fast paced, team centered environment against tight deadlines
  • Experience working with escrow/trust ledger accounting is a big plus

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting of Finance preferred
  • Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training in accounting or financial control work

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for quarterly conference participation

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are to be determined in conjunction with supervisor. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
